by the practice.
We are registered with The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as a Nurse

encouraged by the practice.

Career development with Abivale
Staff
Training
Abivale Veterinary Group actively supports and encourages
staff training and development.
Veterinary Surgeon Continuing Educationl
All
our Veterinary Surgeons attend courses, seminars and congresses during
the year, covering a wide variety of topics and funded by the Practice,
This keeps everyone up to date with the latest developments in Veterinary
Medicine
Student Veterinary Surgeons
It is a requirement that every Student at Veterinary
School has to spend a minimum of twenty-six weeks at a recognised Veterinary
Practice during their clinical training. Students regularly spend 2-3
weeks with us every vacation and we take great pride in helping the vets
of the future to develop the skills they will need once qualified.
Veterinary Nurse Training
Abivale Veterinary Group has been involved in nurse
training since 1970 and is a Registered Trainig Practice as part of the
National Veterinary Nurse Training Scheme
Student Nurses spend two years with us and receive training and tuition
from experienced staff who are qualified as assessors. Student Nurses
are expected to attend a day release course at a recognised College, with
exams at the end of the first and second year to attain an NVQ qualification
as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. This is funded by the Practice as our
continuing commitment to provide a professional service to our clients.
Pre- Veterinary University entry
We encourage prospective Veterinary Students to
spend time with us during school holidays, before applying for a university
place.
Career Advice
We attend many School career evenings and seminars
and our Veterinary Surgeons and Nurses are happy to talk to school groups.
