Abivale
Veterinary Group comprises of five practices under one ownership, providing
veterinary care for domestic pets.
Surgeries
We operate a network of practices covering South Oxfordshire with the
Abingdon Animal Hospital at its centre. There has been a Veterinary Practice
at The Vineyard, Abingdon since 1852. It is now known as Abingdon Animal
Hospital and is the clinical and administrative centre of Abivale Veterinary
Group. The Veterinary practices at Wantage, Didcot and Wallingford were
established in the mid 1940's and our branch surgery at Kennington, Oxford,
in 1995. Over the years we have evolved from a mainly farm practice to
the pet practice that we are today.
Catteries
There
ar also two Boarding Catteries as part of Abivale Veterinary Group.
Abingdon Cattery was established in 1978 with Hadden Hill Cattery opening
in 2000. Each Cattery has its own Reception and Staff and are closely
integrated, with daily Veterinary attendance.
Communication within Abivale
Our Computer network binds the Group together and forms the backbone of
our Company. There is a live computer link between all five Surgeries
and both Catteries. Client records and clinical case histories (with laboratory
reports) are held on a central computer. These are always available; with
easy access from any Surgery, any time day or night. This gives us confidence
to safely prescribe and give advice from any location, allowing continuity
of care. It also enables the collection of prescribed medicines from any
one of our Surgeries.
Centralised record keeping allows our client care services to run efficiently
with client reminder cards for health plans and Nurse Clinics.
